It was rather hard not to acknowledge Friday 13th March without a thought to Red Nose Day, the annual fund-raising event that has been working tirelessly since it began in 1985 is here again. Originally set up to help with the terrible famine in Ethiopia it now offers support spread across many incredibly charities helping young and old in deprived areas. My house has been full this morning of non uniform children, red noses, cakes with smarties, and sweeties bundled in all manner of ways to sell on children’s stalls. So have many schools, offices and work places found ways to raise money, I too thought I could offer my support and donate 50% of all annual memberships taken this week to this well deserving children’s charity.
As a little fun to support me in my endeavours, many of my fabulous models have enjoyed Tweeting their red nose images within adult safe environments as a sign of support for the charitable work Comic Relief achieve.
So if you are thinking that maybe that annual membership was something you were after, now is the ideal time to think again and join.
It is staggering to think that over the years £950m has been raised in total and all starting out with a telethon lead by a comedian Lenny Henry and film producer Richard Curtis. Well done Comic Relief, and all those naughty red noses.
